More camping

I think one of our favorite things in the world is to go camping. Sometimes we don't get to go very often and then other times, we'll go two weekends in a row.

One a recent campout, we were with our good friends, the Whipples. As we were sitting one day, a butterfly came up to us and landed on each one of us. She just stopped by to say hi, I guess. The Whipples have a special butterfly story and so this butterfly visit was a special one, as it happened on their daughter Melissa's birthday.

Linford and Narvel (aka Jim and Pete), enjoying nature and cooking up some delicious dutch oven dinner~~

Of course, can't go anywhere without Roxie. She LOVES camping. She runs and runs and runs.
Another of my favorites is enjoying the change of seasons from summer to fall. We saw some aspen tree leaves that have already started to change colors. I love aspen trees. They sound so pretty when the wind blows through the leaves.
And then there are the sunflowers we get to enjoy every fall. Sometimes there are millions. There's not so many this year but they are still pretty. Check out the dark clouds in the background. We did get to enjoy a little rain while camping. All the more beautiful~!

On Labor Day weekend, we camped again but I did not get even one picture of everyone. We were invited to camp with the Whipples for their little family reunion. They always make us feel so welcome and we appreciate that. What a wonderful family they are, too. Tim and Kiff, their youngest, came up and spent some time. Two very handsome, fun, and nature-loving young men. Then their daughter Marcy and her family. Wow, what smart boys they have. And SO much fun. They can tell jokes and stories and they are not shy about meeting new people and making them feel welcome around the campfire. Their other daughter LoraLeigh and her family were there, too. Now there's another bunch of smart kids and so cute, too, with another one on the way and due in February. Marcy's in-laws the Turleys were there as well and we enjoyed visiting with them. They are so kind and let me tell you, this whole group knows how to cook. I haven't eaten so good in a long time.
Last but not least, I HAVE to tell the funniest story of the whole Labor Day weekend. :) You know I enjoy a good laugh...
We were sitting around the campfire Saturday night. Jaron (Marcy's oldest) was sitting there next to Chris and I and here's how it went (maybe not exactly but pretty darn close)--
Jaron: I pulled a funny trick on a friend of mine recently.
Me: Oh, what did you do?
Jaron: I told him, If you say STRAWBERRY really slow, it sounds like GULLIBLE.
.....Silence. . . .
Chris: STR...AW...BER...
Me: (and everyone else): LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER. hhahahaha
Sorry, Chris, I HAD to share this story. Thanks, Jaron and all the rest of you kids for keeping us entertained. It was a great time!!!!
