Fun at the pool

The past few days I spent in the valley at Tempe attending elections training for my job. It seemed kind of long and drawn out but I enjoyed my evenings there for sure. Wednesday evening, Danica and Cody came over and we went to eat. We didn't find anything that exotic or exciting but we enjoyed some pizza. Then we went back to my hotel and went swimming. The resort had a really nice pool. Two pools actually that we joined by a little tunnel. Anyway, there were some water falls and things that we played around and then went to the other pool through the tunnel and found the volleyball net. So we got the ball and hit it around and across the net a few times. Well, mostly INTO the net because Danica and I weren't very good at it. haha Oh well, it was fun trying. Then since we were so bad at it, I suggested that we play Keep Away....from Danica. So Cody and I kept throwing the ball back and forth and let's face it, Danica could NOT get the ball away from us. So I finally just threw the ball right to her and she was able to get it away from me. haha So she and Cody then were trying to keep it away from me. Well, instead of facing the person that was throwing the ball, I kept facing Danica the whole time. It was kind of freaking her out because I just kept watching her eyes to see which way she was going to go to try to catch the ball. Anyway, instead of watching Cody, who was throwing the ball to her, she was watching me. I was getting pretty tickled about it all and then all of a sudden I hear Cody yell, "DANICA!" then a split-second later the volleyball hit Danica square on the forehead and completely knocked her off her feet and backwards into the water. I can't even tell you how hard I was laughing. I actually thought I was going drown because I was laughing so hard. So I finally made it over to the steps and I still couldn't quit laughing. I know....it's that sick and twisted Gaines sense of humor coming out, but it was the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time. It just kept playing over and over in my head and then I'd start laughing all over again. Even after I went to bed that night, I started laughing again as I was laying in my hotel room and thinking about the whole incident.
