Jim and I went to Puerto Vallarta for our 25th wedding anniversary. While we were there, we bought him a new gold wedding band. It was kind of a nice memento of our trip. That was in 2004.
Last summer, we went to Provo in June to help Taralee after having her foot surgery. We were there for a couple days, celebrated Brody's 2nd birthday at the park, went here and there, and just generally enjoyed ourselves. When we left to drive home, we got almost out of town and Jim realized he didn't have his ring. He couldn't remember when the last time was that he had it. Did he have it that morning? The day before? Did he have it on at the park? We had no idea. We called Taralee and she searched her house and the bedroom that we stayed in to no avail. We searched all Jim's clothes pockets, his truck, everywhere we could think of. The ring was gone. It was kind of sad.
We have done a lot of traveling here and there since that trip to Provo and this past weekend was no exception. We went to Odessa to visit my mom and dad and take care of some business there. Took the same luggage and clothes bag that we always take on trips. When we got home late Monday night, we unloaded the truck and left some of the bigger things in the garage to haul inside later.
Tuesday at lunch Jim came in the house with a big smile on his face. He said, "Guess what I found?" I had no idea what he had lost so I didn't even venture a guess. He said, "I found MY RING!" I couldn't believe it. He had unzipped the clothes bag in the garage that morning and taken the clothes out of it and hauled them in the house. At lunch, he looked down at the bag laying there in the garage still unzipped and there in the bag was his ring. It was justing laying in the back of the bag. It wasn't down in the bottom or over on the edge. Somehow it ended up just laying there in the middle of the bag. Now isn't that strange? That clothes bag is 33 years old and has a few holes here and there on the edges. How in the world that ring never fell out of that bag I have no idea, but I'm glad it didn't. We are happy he has his ring back It was a good day.

Don't you just love the tender mercies of the Lord? What a great story!
That is pretty funny. Now you can wonder why you weren't to find it until now . . . food for thought?
Spencers Mom has a a ton of I lost the diamond out of my wedding ring stories. It is amazing to hear where she found her diamond months later! My grandpa and Grandma Jordan have a cool story as well. I think those are the stories us kids remember and hold close to our hearts! You and Uncle Jim have done tons of traveling it really is a wonder it never fell out!
Oh I am so happy you found it! What a neat story! I never heard from you..everything ok?
That is awesome! So glad he found the ring...Crystal is right my mom and dad have the BEST ring story ever...I might have to blog it one day just so it will be written down. You know the Lord does have his hand in all things...even the seemingly small things considering how much bigger things can be.
That's a great story! I love it when things like that happen.
