Nose Dive

I have to tell you this funny story. Today we spent the entire day cleaning out our garage. We hauled a trailer and pickup both full of stuff to the dump. I mean, you can't believe how much garbage we threw out. Granted, most of it was construction stuff, but some of it was other junk from the garage. Anyway, we got to the dump and I started unloading the pickup bed which had mostly light-weight stuff like bags of pine needles and carpet padding, etc. Jim was in the trailer pushing out all the lumber pieces, sheetrock, old carpet...just lots of stuff. Anyway, I was pretty much done with the load in the pickup so I was standing there trying not to get hit by things he was flinging out of the trailer. But then he was trying to get this huge piece of carpet out of there. He was pushing and pushing and he couldn't quite get it out. So he gave it one final "heave ho" and pushed really hard. All of a sudden he did a nose dive out of the back of the trailer and landed with the carpet on top of the huge pile of trash. Well, of course I got to laughing (it's a Gaines thing) and the guy in the truck next to us looked over and said, "are you OK?" hahaha I guess he thought he better check to see if Jim was OK since I was laughing so hard and was obviously not going to be any help to him if he was hurt. hahaha
Anyway, I just had to post this funny story. I'm still laughing so hard that I've got tears running down my face. But, all in all, we had a real productive day. It's not a good day, in my opinion, unless I get to have a big belly laugh. So today was a GOOD day!!! We still have a few things to haul to the dump but the garage looks so much better. We can even get both vehicles in there which is good timing because I hear there is a storm on the way. I'm so happy to have that chore behind us.
Well, gotta run. Life is good and I'm exhausted. Ready to hit the hay tonight!

Cars in a garage? What a novel idea, think I'll run it past Jon and see what he thinks?

That makes me laugh. Typical experience with Jim or Molli, the both of them have had such "coordinated" experiences. Where's the camera when you need it? Flashbacks of the steer manure episode or bike crash come to mind real quickly! Oh by the way, hope you are okay.

Poor Uncle Jim! I think of the fence and trampoline experience! I hope he is feeling okay. I really don't know why it is so darn funny when someone else gets hurt! The dump is so nasty anyways!

And don't forget the bike accident back when y'all lived in Holbrook. haha! Man, life just wouldn't be as funny without Gene or Jim around. :o)

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Trace said that he would have paid good money to see that!
We both laughed until we had tears in our eyes. (glad dad is ok...but man...that is hilarious!)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
I think I'm going to read this on a daily basis...just so I can laugh. Nose dive...ha ha ha. I can just picture it in my mind.
It kind of reminds me of that time mom was going to safeway and was wearing a long dress and decided to do a little "bound" over the shopping cart curb thing and mid-air realized that her dress didn't have enough give in it. Her foot hit the other side of the curb, she got tripped up, and ROLLED into the streat! She hoped up, looked around aimlessly...hoping no one saw her little spill...and brushed off the dirt. ha ha ha ha. Remember that? I wasn't there...but everytime I think about it I do a "silent shaking" laugh. Hilarious.

I totally see you mom laughing so hard you couldn't stand up straight and so loud. I wish I could have been there, dangit! good to hear that you guys are working hard
