Jim and I met our friends the Whipples in Miami, AZ today, had a delicious Mexican food lunch, and then went to a bunch of antique stores. We always enjoy being with Pete and Chris. They are a lot of fun and we always have lots of laughs together. We took a few pictures but I didn't have my camera so I used my phone so they aren't the best quality.
Here's the guys checking out the pretty flowers. (It's about the only "pretty" thing in Miami! haha--besides Chris and I)
I thought this old bicycle was really cool. I wanted to take it for a ride but decided just taking a picture with me posing would have to do.
I think this is an old McDonald's Hamburglar statue if I remember my McDonald's history correctly. Chris thought he was cute and so she snuggled up to him. Pete must have been off with Jim somewhere!!!
On our drive home, Jim and I decided we needed to get started on our bathroom. Our shower has been out of order for some time now and it's time to get it fixed. So we had a discussion on how we should do it, etc, etc.
We had been home for 30 minutes or so from our trip to Miami and I couldn't find Jim. But I kept smelling this really odd smell. I finally followed the smell into the bathroom (no, it's not what you're thinking....) and there Jim was cutting the fiberglass tub out of the corner (that was the awful smell--fiberglass) and he was tearing the bathroom apart. Great. I just spent all Thursday evening cleaning my bathroom. hahaha Here's what I saw when I went in there. So I decided if he was doing that, I'd get the big crow bar and tear out the tile floor, which had a bunch of cracks in it anyway and needed to be replaced, too.
In the meantime, Jim called sister and bro-in-law Paula and David and they drove into town to help out. David helped Jim finish tearing out the tub unit which was a the biggest job. It was nice of them to help. If you ever need anything demolished, just give them a call. They are always ready to help out. He's actually really good at building things, too. haha
Here's the mess after we tore everything out and then another picture after we cleaned it all up. Now, we have to work on getting everything fixed back like it needs to be. A little at a time though, as we get enough money to finish it. It'll be nice when we get it finished.

How exciting!!! I'm so glad "Miami" seemed to motivate? HA!!! Love you guys so much and thanks again for the wonderful Saturday together. I slipped today on the back patio while watering...I'm a mess.
Boy have I had everything backwards. I always thought it was the wife's duty to tear things up while the husband is at work. Jon used to be afraid to come home, especially if I told him I needed the truck . . . to load the demo into. When I realized this, I would ask him to leave the truck and be mysterious about it, just give him a little excitement! Shhhhh, don't tell him, he doesn't know how mean I really am.
I love the trike Aunt Tamera!
I love the picture of you on the bike. How many years has it been since you've ridden one?
And WOW...another home project! That's exciting. I can't wait to see the finished project.
Good for you guys. I'll have to show Teele a picture of Jim demo-ing the bathroom. Teele started on mine TWO years ago and it still sits there ...unusable. So My bathroom is the only one and it's a pain. Can't wait to see the finished product!
I love the picture of you busy at work...ha ha. Your facial expression is so serious.
PS. You guys are looking good. Ow OW!!
