Trip to Texas

We went to Odessa over the weekend to see my mom and dad. Daddy is in the hospital and has been for a week. He is supposed to get to go home tomorrow but will need some therapy for a couple of weeks to help him gain his strength back. They wanted to put him in a nursing facility for a couple weeks but Mother thinks she can take care of him at home. I really have my doubts about that. Mother's right hand is completely numb and she has nerve pain from her shoulder all the way to her hand because of a pinched nerve somewhere. I really in truly wish she would let people help her. I worry that she will hurt herself trying to help Daddy get up and down and around the house. We'll see how it goes. Mother wants to have him home and I don't blame her for that. They've been together for 60+ years. Hopefully, he will regain his strength quickly with some therapy at home. We are all hoping and praying that he gets better real soon. He gave us all quite a little scare. It was sure sad to see him in that hospital being so sick. He's never been sick much in his whole life until recently, so we are thankful for that.

We got to spend some time with Gary and Sharon. Bradley and Ainsley came to see Grandaddy, too, so it was good to see them. We always have some good laughs when we're together, no matter the circumstances.

Ainsley is in kindergarten but she can already read second grade books. Such a smart little girl and she already knows how to text. Here she is sending and reading text messages to and from Ryan.

Just chillin...

My favorite brother Gary!!!
Ainsley...what a cutie pie!

Hopefully we can make another trip to see everyone again soon. I love my family!

Gary is back at Permian coaching football again. He's excited to be back in the coaching business again and Permian is glad to have him. This is a picture inside their new indoor practice field. It is a beautiful facility even though the picture does not do it justice.
There are a couple of signs on the wall that Jim liked. He thought it was funny that the first rule in the weight room was "no earrings." :D Jim hates earrings on guys...
We left Odessa at 4:30 a.m. to head back to Arizona on Monday morning and of course it was still dark. I tried to get a good picture of the beautiful sunrise but I had to take it with my camera phone which isn't all that great. Should have dug out my good camera but it was beautiful, trust me!

Oh Tamra I'm sorry to hear about your fathers illness. It's so hard to watch our parents get old and it reminds us that "we're next". Well it does me any way but that's the way it's supposed to be. I'm glad you got to visit your family just wish it was under better circumstances. Your sunset was beautiful even if it was on a camera phone! Glad you made it back home safe and sound. I still love the sand picture you did for Sage!

What a crazy trip and quick trip. Grandaddy looks so sad in the bed. I hope he starts feeling better soon and can come back home. Maybe they can get someone to help out? Sad seeing them get old.
Ainsley is adorable. She has the cutest little smile.
