Jim worked on our front deck railing this week. It looks so much nicer. Now it matches the railing on our back deck.
So then it was time to paint around the bottom of the deck and the steps. We pulled the front steps away from the deck and lo and behold, this is what we found.... "Danica '05." I guess she helped us paint them the last time.
That was all it took. Jim had to paint his name to match. haha I thought it was funny.
The finished product. Jim put trim around the front door (Finally, since we got the door in December.) and we painted the steps and around the bottom of the deck, painted the trim around the door, painted the garage door, and stained the decking. Beautiful!!!! The picture doesn't really do it justice but it looks real nice. We even stained the back deck, too. It was really in need of a new coat of stain.
THEN. can you believe it, it started raining!!!! The label on the stain can said, "do not paint if rain is imminent." haha Well, too late for that. Who in the world ever thought we'd be having rain in May. It never rains here in May. Usually the rainy season doesn't start until July.
So after it started raining, we were done with the painting and staining and decided for go for a little ride. Look how cold it was in Show Low at 3 in the afternoon. 48 degrees!! I was freezing, came home and put on sweats and a sweatshirt. Wow, who would think the weather would do this at the end of May!!
Let's just hope the stain and paint job aren't ruined. I took our blower and blew all the puddles of water off so maybe it will dry. Time will tell....

haha I totally forgot I painted that on there! Apparently my autograph is all around town! Torreon door jam, back of the station wagon, under the stairs, its under my window seal too to my old bedroom unless it got replaced. I'm awesome. The house looks so good. Now you can get all weather fence to replace that big green thing in our front yard and then you can paint all of that brick! bless your heart! hahaha. Its days like these that I don't really miss being home. Selfish? absolutely. Please don't tell me you used motor oil to "water proof" the deck! Anyways it all looks nice. I'll come see it shortly!
We actually used REAL stain, but then it rained. So who knows. It might stay sticky forever. grrrr
