Friday night, Jim came in the family room and asked if we had a small fan somewhere and that our ceiling fan in the bedroom had died. So I went in and we tried to get it going but it was making this horrible sound. I located a small fan and slept with it running all night. We're both used to having a fan going every night.
Anyway, on Saturday I went to Home Depot and bought a new fan. Some of you may remember the last time Jim decided to do a little electrical work. (Look HERE--you'll have to read toward to bottom to see what I'm talking about.) Anyway, after not having any luck recruiting anyone to help us hang the fan, we got out the tools and the ladder. Jim told me he'd hand me the tools as he helped me climb the ladder. (Just great. Thanks for being a gentleman!!! For some reason he loves to put me up on a ladder.......SEE.
Anyway, an hour or so later, we had it installed and running. SO nice. It isn't remote control or anything fancy but it works and is super quiet--almost too quiet! We like the "white noise" at night. But that old fan was probably at least 15 years old. It was time to replace it. I'm just glad they don't all break down at one time!!! They don't make those things that easy to put together. When you open the box, there's like 50 parts that have to be put together.
Now if we can just find the time and money to get our bathroom finished!!!

The new fan looks really nice. You'll get the bathroom done sometime...one step at a time!
We really need a ceiling fan in our room AND Brody's room. It gets pretty toasty up there in the summer.
I'm glad no one got electricuted. (did I spell that right?)
Spencer is the best fan installer person I know! My Dad on the other hand is HORRIBLE! He can not get the van balanced and it wobbles until the light fixtures rattle right off it is so funny hearing Mom tell Dad how bad his fan installing skills are!
Why do the vans come in 50 pieces I will never know! Tiny little screws!
Good Job! You two can put together anything! Stan replaced one at my mom's this past Sat as well! I'm sure it was a breeze (for those who enjoy that kind of thing) Anyway proud of ya!
Next time your down we need some outside lights installed.

Good taste - it is beautiful!
Yeah don't have my dad install a fan. You'll never sleep with both eyes closed in fear of it falling. However, your new fan looks awesome!!!!
