Nativity collection

OK, I promised I would post pictures of my nativity collection. Most of them are quite small because if they were very big sure wouldn't have room for all of them. But they are all unique and some I've had for years and some not that long. Some have a little bit of history and some don't. But I love them all and enjoy looking at them during Christmas. It reminds me of what Christmas is truly all about.

The first one is a nativity/picture frame combo. Our nephew gave it to us for Christmas one year.

This glass block was a project one year and after making quite a few of them and giving them away as gifts, we kept one for ourselves.

This little star nativity was hand painted by a lady we used to go to church with. She painted so beautifully and I think it is special even though it is just painted on some cardstock.
This little blue nativity was given to me by Rustin one year for my birthday. It is so cute and the figures have little cartoon looking faces. (It also fits in really well with my snowman collection....different post for a different day!)

This little nativity is one I made years ago. Paula helped cut them all out and we painted them all by hand and even made the little stable it sits in.

This little one is made out of Olive wood from Bethlehem. We bought it in Ruidoso one year when we were there with our family for Thanksgiving.

This little white ceramic nativity was the very first one we bought the first year we were married. It's small and so cute. I think we paid $20 for it. Maybe less. It's been so long. I thought that was so much money to pay at the time but it was worth it to me. It was the beginning of my collection!

Here's another homemade one. Just a tiny manger with a baby Jesus and a star. So very cute. (Oh and the tree is the background was handmade by my mother and given to me years ago also. It lights up and is one of my favorite things.)

This "snow globe" nativity has a funny story. One year for Christmas at the Reidhead party, Jim got a gift from someone at the gift exchange. I guess he didn't really like the gift. ;o) Anyway someone else had received this little snow globe and wanted what Jim got, so he made a trade and got me this pretty little nativity. It is also a music box and it plays O Holy Night.

This little porcelain nativity is another one I made. A bunch of us made them one year at Thanksgiving at Paula's house. It's one of my favorites, too.

The last one is actually a puzzle and is made out of wood. I left it put together in the "stable" so you can't really see the nativity that well, but if you take the pieces out, it makes the cutest little nativity. My niece Kodi made it for me.

Well, if you add the other two from my previous post, you can see that I have a ton of nativities as part of my collection. I love them all and am so thankful to have things in my home that remind me of Jesus's birth. That's what this is all about afterall!

Thanks for sharing. All of them are so cute. I got to see the Nativity collection at the Temple last year and wow! It was worth waiting in the long line at the visitor's center to see.

You have some great nativities. Love the puzzle one at the bottom. If you get down to the valley before Christmas you will have to come by and see some of the ones from the Orange Patch. You would love it.

I love all of them! My Mother in law has the puzzle one and the kids love it! I love our Nativity, we put it up separately from the tree and other decorations. So we can take the time to teach the kids about the true meaning of Christmas.

I love your collection. I always try to find a new one for myself and each of my kids each year. Stephen (Mariah's husband) says that it is possible to have too many .. sounds like a challenge to me!
